Sóley

I have been working on this in between other projects for a long time. I´m not nearly done, but you can see where it´s heading.

Bowls

I have finally found the right bowl form for the "Italian" project.
Here are the four attempt - can you guess which one is the one?

And yes - I know they don´t look like much - but remember, this is just the base - the embroidery is what makes it (because I will probably only use one) beautiful.

Ugly

Here they are - the former ugly socks, now ugly wrist warmers.
Doddi, the little budgie is not ugly however. He is "home grown" the only surviving chick from the first round of eggs from our budgie pair. He is very tame and the delight of the family - especially the children of course.

Better

The second attempt at the "Italian" bowl was much better. Almost perfect in fact. But not quite, the edges of the bottom were a bit funky and I want to see how the edges look a little lower. So - one more go (at least) is in order before I start to think (seriously) about the embroidery.

Mess

Attempt one at the "Italian" bowl failed miserably. Instead of a elegant but firm bowl I had a floppy mess. But the base was exactly the way I intended, so I am on to something, I sure of it!
I just have to make some changes and try again.

Ugly

Last night I needed something to knit over a movie. I was out of yarn on my "Italian" project and I really didn´t want to got to the basement and find some more. The ugly socks ware laying in my knitting basket right beside me. And then it hit me. I would probably never find the matching yarn and it was really to ugly to look for anyway. So ripped the foot of the finished one and the heel of the second one and the ugly socks are going to be : ugly fingerless mittens.

Italia

The magazine thing is moving along - today I signed a contract (no mention of a fee though) but I don´t care I still think it´s cool. I know I will get paid, I just don´t know how much.

The other day I started another smaller project. That is not paid - but it´s for an Italian publication and it´s very good publicity. I will tell you all about it when the when and hows are firmly decided.

The second ugly sock

I have been working on these ugly socks on and off for a while now. But no more. The reason : no more yarn. I thought I had another skein somewhere, but I can´t find it! I have searched high and low and found 2 skeins of ugly sock yarn - but in a different color....

Almost done

The pattern is posted and my secret project is in the mail. I´m a little nervous actually, I don´t think I made any mistakes, but you never know, perhaps I missed something. There is no use obsessing over that though - I still have the article to do (due tomorrow, in English)...

No pictures

I now i promised pictures of the dresses - but I have to break that promise. The reason is joyous though : I have sold the pattern to a magazine! I´m going to develop it a little further but it´s basically going to be the same dress.

The secret project I have been working on (for the same magazine) is finished. Now I "just" have to finish the drawing, and write up the pattern in English. That is not so easy for me - but I trust they have good editors...
