Emma

The lace hat has now got a name, it's called Emma after the famous Jane Austin heroin.

This is going to be it's "sister" and I think I know what it's name is. I'm still not quite sure though, there is so much work to be done on it, all the embroidery is going to transform it  so I won't decide until it's finished.

Dye

I was dying with lupine yesterday, and it turned out a completely different color than last time I did it!
The day was kind if brownish red and it made the wool almost a curry tone instead of the beautiful green I was expecting. That is not a problem however - I like this color too and the hat is going to be beautiful, I just know it.

I'm wandering why this might be - is it because it's earlier in the year - or are the lupins somehow different because of the volcanic ash perhaps? I simply don't know.

Running...

Running, originally uploaded by Harpa J.

...in great grandmas garden.

I've been away for a few day's. It's been great, restful and a little pit productive too. A second lace hat is knit up and ready to be dyed.
The crochet top is looking good too - but I haven't gotten around to taken a picture of it yet.

Rain

Yesterday we had some rain - it was most welcome. It keeps the ash from flying about and making trouble for everyone.

I'm working on a new lace hat - and a improvised cotton top down crochet top that I'm not sure is going to work out. We will see. That reminds me - I need to pop down to the shop to get some plötulopi to finish the hat - I'm all out of white and that does not do!

p.s. The photo is taken as my daughter left the first music school concert of the day, to change into serious rock outfit for the second one. It was the first time she played the electric guitar in public so it was a big moment for her.
