My long cardigan

I love my long cardigan. It's perfect in every way.

The soft colours really compliment my pale complexion and the leaf rank is a part of a very old mitten pattern from the west fjords of Iceland.

The arms are extra long (just the way I like them).

The buttons are vintage and no two are the same.

There is just one problem. It doesn't fit.

The fit over the hips and waist is perfect, no less, and it's quite good over the bust itself too. Then I get into trouble.

I should have started the decreases right away, but I didn't do them until after the leaf rank. That, and the fact that I made the bust darts a bit too big, are the reasons for my trouble: the cardigan is way to wide over the shoulders.

The yoke simply doesn't fit me no matter how I twist and turn in front of the mirror.

I'm going to have to make me another and let this one go. But when I do, I'm going to change the buttons. These lovely vintage ones are mine.
